Spiritual significance is striking, and potentially it could be used as a strong antiseptic, similar to CLERC or Limpia, but because of harmful beta-asarone found in Calamus it is not recommended for aromatherapy. If used as intended in the Bible(ceremonial, meditation purposes, not used topically) it is not harmful.
