Cassia, Cinnamonum cassia
Essential Oil

Chinese cinnamon oil. Obtained by steam distillation of various parts of the tree. Yellow to dark brown oil with strong warm woody and spicy odour.
Main Components: cinnamaldehyde, benzaldehyde.
Actions*: strong antiseptic, antifungal, anaesthetic, stomachic.
Applications*: traditionally used for digestive problems, but with similar content to cinnamon oil it has similar extreme antiseptic properties, rheumatism, colds, fragrancing, antidepressant.
Safety data: severe dermal irritant and sensitizer, not recommended topically.
