Obtained by water distillation of dried flower buds. Clear to yellow oil with strong sweet spicy odour. A dark brown liquid is an adulterated form extracted from leaves.
Main Components: eugenol, caryophyllene.

Applications*: relieves tooth ache, arthritic and rheumatic pain, stimulates digestion, mental tonic, insect repellent.
