Obtained by water distillation of  fresh leaves. Clear to yellow oil with strong sweet spicy odour. Colourless to pale yellow or greenish-coloured liquid with a powerful fresh camphoraceous and eucalyptus-like odour.
Main Components: alpha-pinene, eucalyptol, terpineol, cymene, limonene.
Actions*: analgesic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, expectorant (to loosen phlegm so it can be coughed up), stimulant.
Applications*: used for colds, flus, headaches, chronic rheumatism, dysentery, urinary complaints.
Safety data: non-toxic, non-sensitizing. Needs to be diluted before contact with mucous membranes.
