Obtained by steam distillation from the fresh flowering tops. Pale yellow oil with a warm herbaceous minty fragrance.
Main Components: carvone, limonene, pinene, cineole, linalool, menthol, caryophyllene.
Actions*: antispasmodic, antiseptic, nervine, decongestant, stomachic.
Applications*: similar to peppermint, but more gentle; sinus congestion, dermatitis, acne, skin tonic, sore gums, stress, depression, indigestion.
Safety data: non-toxic, non-irritant, non-sensitising.
