Essential Oils

Obtained by steam distillation of leaves. Usually a pale yellow oil with camphoraceous odour. There are about 600 species of Eucalyptus. Some more important are E. citriodora, E. radiata, E. globulus, E. dives, E. polybractea. The first two are the ingredients of Brelief blend. E. citriodora, called Lemon Eucalyptus is usually described as antiinflammatory, calming, expectorant and mucolytic, and has citrus scent due to the presence of citronellal and citronellol. E. radiata is being described as antiseptic, expectorant, antiviral, improves circulation
Main Components: cineole, terpineol, pinene, limonene.
Actions*: antiseptic, antiviral, antirheumatic, analgesic, antispasmodic, decongestant.
Applications*: muscular pains, insect bites, rheumatism, arthritis, headaches, bronchitis, sinusitis, asthma, colds, flu, burns, blisters, wounds.
