German Chamomile, Matricaria recutita
Pure Essential Oil

Chamomile German Essential Oil from Hungary is steam distilled from the flowers of wild crafted M. recutita, also known as Matricaria chamomilla . It is one of the most soothing of essential oils. It is well known for it's soothing effect on all manner of inflammatory skin conditions. This essential oil is dark blue with a strong sweetish warm herbal odour.
Main Components: chamazulene, alpha-bisabolol, bisabolol oxide, bisabolone.
Actions*: analgesic, anti-allergenic, anti-inflammatory, antispasmotic, bactericidal, fungicidal, local vasoconstrictor, hepato-regenerative, immunostimulant.
Applications*: burns, dermatosis, liver stagnation, arthritis, sprains, muscle spasms and cramps, reduces skin redness, allergic reactions, eczema, poor apetite, PMS; use topically diluted or undiluted.
Safety data: non-toxic, non-irritant, rarely causes dermatitis.

Roman Chamomile, Anthemis nobilis
Pure Essential Oil

Chamomile Roman Essential Oil from USA is steam distilled from the flowers of organic A. nobilis, also known as Chamaemelum nobile. It is well know for its calming activity, with its 70 to 80% esters it is one of the most calming oil there is. Pale yellow liquid with a strong sweetish warm herbal odour. Similar actions as German C. although it contains different components.
Main Components: isoamyl and isobutyl angelate, 2-Methylbutyl 2-methylbutyrate, alpha-pinene.
Actions*: sedative, antiseptic, antispasmodic, stomachic, analgesic.
Applications*: antidepressant, stress-relieving, calming, anxiety, headaches, insomnia, asthma, PMS, indigestion, diarrhoea; use topically diluted or undiluted.
Safety data: non-toxic, non-irritant, non-sensitizing.

Moroccan Chamomile, Ormenis mixta
Pure Essential Oil

Also Chamaemelum mixtum, or Ormenis multicaulis are called M. Chamomile. It is steam distilled from the flowers. Pale yellow to light brown mobile liquid. The top notes are fresh-herbal and mildly camphoraceous and the body notes are sweet cistus-like pleasant ambra undertones. Chemical and olfactory it is distinctly different from any other oil. It should not be treated as a replacement for Roman or German Chamomile.
Main Components: santolina alcohol, artemesia alcohol, germacrene D, epi-α-Muurolol and α-cadinol.
Actions: perfumery.
Applications: does not have a long history of traditional uses.
Safety data: generally safe.
